We advance and accelerate the adoption of energy efficient cooling in line with the National Energy Policy (April 2021) and Integrated Resource Plan for Electricity for Botswana (October 2020)
We promote the use of water efficiency measures, low-flow fittings, fixtures and appliances, water sub-metering and automated leak detection, and other sustainable innovative tech
We encourage the transition to a circular built environment, driven by cross-sectoral systematic shifts that promote locally-sourced, recycled and affordable construction materials.

The Botswana Green Building Council (BotGBC) Strategic Framework is the outcome of continuous research and engagement undertaken by our team over the course of 2022.
It has been informed and shaped by the knowledge and experience of our networks, key stakeholders, and strategic partners.
This Framework has been designed as a living directional document to be expanded into BotGBC Strategic Plan 2023-2027. While it captures our current thinking and approach to green building as a principle and practice, it is anchored on the belief in addressing climate change and
development in Africa.
BotGBC will advance and accelerate the adoption of energy efficient cooling in line with the National Energy Policy (April 2021) and Integrated Resource Plan for Electricity for Botswana (October 2020) to ensure energy security and to improve equitable access to reliable and adequate supply of energy.
